Mighty Macs Down Gators 2-1 on Wednesday at Home

IMMACULATA, Pa.- Senior Matthew Kirkpatrick scored for the second consecutive game, and senior Oliver Wilkins scored his first goal of the season as the Immaculata men's soccer team (2-2-0) defeated Notre Dame of Maryland 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The game started slowly with the teams feeling each other out.
  • Cooper McKinney generated the games first shot in the games seventh minute.
  • Immaculata goalkeeper John Wilhelm made the games first save in the 10th minute of play.
  • Jordan Brown generated Immaculata's first shot on goal on a header off a corner kick in the game's 12th minute.
  • Immaculata opened the scoring in the game's 25th minute when Matthew Kirkpatrick scored on an assist by Alex Corsones to give the Mighty Macs a 1-0 lead.
  • John Wilhelm made for saves in goals for the Mighty Macs in the first half as the they carried a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
  • Immaculata doubled its lead in the games 47th minute when Oliver Wilkins scored off an assist by Sean Franks.
  • Notre Dame of Maryland refused to go quietly as they scored in the games 65th minute when Athanasios Ziliaskopoulos scored off an assist from Tassilo Lehmkuhl.
  • Despite pressure from the Gators, Immaculata was able to go on to close out the 2-1 win.
