Field Hockey Blanks Aggies in Non Conference Match Up

DOYLESTOWN, Pa.- Kailey Mayoros scored in the 44th minute as Immaculata defeated Delaware Valley 1-0 on the road Wednesday afternoon. With the win, Immaculata raises its record to 3-1 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first quarter was very physical which resulted in many whistles. This did not allow for much flow in the game. 
  • Neither team registered a shot during the first quarter, and both teams had one penalty corner.
  • In the second quarter, Delaware Valley took control generating seven shots, as Immaculata goalkeeper Julia Levase made three saves.
  • Rachel Madden had a defensive save for Immaculata in the game's 27th minute.
  • Delaware Valley had the only two penalty corners of the second quarter.
  • The Aggies continued applying pressure early in the third quarter, as Julia Levase made a save, and Immaculata blocked a shot off a penalty corner.
  • Immaculata began to find their way around the 40-minute mark as they earned consecutive penalty corners.
  • In the 43rd minute Maria Berenato put a shot on goal that Aggies goalie Alyssa Rudd saved. Kailey Mayoros found the ball and shot it, then hit it a second time into the cage for her first goal of the season to put Immaculata ahead 1-0.
  • In the fourth quarter, Delaware Valley had five shots, and Julia Levase made a save in the game's 51st minute.
  • Della George blocked an Aggies shot in the game's 56th minute, and Madalyn Bonner blocked a shot in the game's 57th minute for the Mighty Macs.
