Field Hockey Team Opens Week on the Road at Delaware Valley on Wednesday

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University field hockey team (2-1) will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Doylestown to play Delaware Valley University. This will begin a stretch of three games in four days for the Mighty Macs. 

GAME INFORMATION 

Immaculata Field Hockey at Delaware Valley

SERIES HISTORY 

  • These two schools are meeting for the tenth time in a series that began in 2006. Immaculata is 1-8 vs Delaware Valley. 

  • The schools are meeting for the first time since 2019. 

LAST MEETING 

  • Immaculata got their only win in the series in the school's last meeting on September 18, 2019, at Draper Walsh Stadium winning 2-1 in double overtime. 

  • Colleen Bradley tied the game at 1-1 in the game's 40th minute on an assist from Maddy Edwards. Macy Greene scored the game-winner in the second overtime on an assist from Colleen Bradley. Randie Kuhar made 13 saves in goal for the Mighty Macs. 

IMMACULATA NOTES 

  • Alexis Andrada continued her fast start to her Immaculata career this past week scoring a combined four goals over two games for the Mighty Macs. She scored two goals against Eastern University on September 4th, generating four shots on goal. Andrada had two goals in including the eventual game winning goal in the Mighty Macs come from behind win at King's College on September 7th. She now has the game winning goal in both Immaculata wins this season. 

  • Della George had two assists in the win over King's. George now has points in each of the Mighty Macs games and has one goal and three assists for the season. 

  • Immaculata held the 3-2 lead for the final 18 minutes of the game. 

  • In the fourth quarter, the Immaculata defensive core successfully defended three Monarch penalty corners 

SCOUTING DELAWARE VALLEY 

  • Delaware Valley opened their season 1-3. After dropping their first two games against Simmons University and New England College, the Aggies defeated Gwynedd Mercy 5-1 in their home opener. 

  • In their last game the Aggies fell to Widener University 3-1 on September 5th. 

  • Delaware Valley has been led offensively by freshman forward Alexis Graffius who has scored four goals over their past two games. She had three goals against Gwynedd Mercy, and one goal against Widener. 

  • Graduate forward Sydney Keagle scored two goals. 

  • Graduate midfielder Ashley Birmingham and senior forward Paige Sammons each had two assists through four games. 

  • Graduate goalkeeper Alyssa Rudd is 1-3 in goal and has made 20 saves on 28 shots faced. 

MOVING UP THE CHARTS 

  • Julia Levase set a new IU program record for career wins earning her 18th career win against King's College on September 7th. 

WEEKLY HONORS 

  • Alexis Andrada was named the Atlantic East Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week for a second consecutive week. 

  • Andrada was also named Mighty Mac of the Week by the Immaculata Sports Information Office. 

UP NEXT 

  • The Immaculata Field Hockey team will be back on the road on Friday, September 13th when they travel to play Lancaster Bible at 4:00 pm. 

  • Immaculata will return home on Saturday, September 14th when they host Keystone College at Draper Walsh Stadium at 2:00 pm. Join the Field Hockey Team as the Macs Give Back to the B+ Foundation.
