IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University field hockey team (1-0, 0-0 AEC) opened their 2024 season with a 1-0 victory over Albright College on Saturday at Draper Walsh Stadium. Freshmen Alexis Andrada scored the game's only goal in the second quarter, and senior goalie Julia Levase earned her 11^th career shutout making five saves.

How it Happened

• Albright jumped out quickly in the game registering five shots in the first quarter.
• Goalkeeper Julia Levase made two saves to keep the game scoreless through the first quarter.
• Immaculata scored the game-only goal in the second quarter when freshman midfielder Alexis Andrada deflected Della George's shot past the Albright goalkeeper to give Immaculata the 1-0 lead with 8:36 remaining in the second quarter.
• The Immaculata defense weathered five penalty corners for Albright in the third quarter. Julia Levase made consecutive saves as the Mighty Macs carried the 1-0 lead into the fourth quarter.
• In the fourth quarter the Immaculata defense blocked two shots, and Julia Levase made another save late in the match to close out the 1-0 win.

• Alexis Andrada scores her first collegiate goal in her Immaculata debut.
• Julia Levase registered her 11^th career shutout, adding to her program career record total. With today's win Levase is now tied for the IU field hockey program record for career wins with 17. Tying the record held by Sarah Pasternak 2013-16, and Britt Worthington 2008-10.

• Albright out shot Immaculata 17-5, with a 5-1 advantage in shots on goal.
