IMMACULATA, Pa.- Immaculata University Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced the hiring of Luke Apple as the new Director of Athletic Communications. Apple will join Sports Information Director Andrew Alvarez in co-leading communication efforts for all 22 varsity sports.
"I am incredibly thankful to Paul Murphy, Jayson Hyman, Brittany Whalen, and Andrew Alvarez for this opportunity," said Apple. "I have been welcomed every time I have been on campus, making this in-conference transition easier. I am eager to help highlight Immaculata's student athletes, coaches, and programs." "The opportunity to join forces with Andy (Alvarez) really excites me," continued Apple. "Having a working relationship with him, I know the effort and diligence he puts forth in his role. Together, I believe in our ability to cover and promote Immaculata Athletics at a high level."
Apple comes to Immaculata after serving as Director of Athletic Communications at Cabrini University during the 2023-24 school year. He served as the primary contact for all 16 varsity sports writing game recaps and articles, creating game programs for all home contests. He managed content and social media updates and nominated student athletes for conference and regional recognition. He updated departmental records and disseminated team rosters.
Apple spent the 2022-23 school year as Assistant Sports Information Director & Athletic Facilities Coordinator at the University of Valley Forge.

Apple received a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management from Messiah University in May of 2022.
