HACKETTSTOWN, N.J.- The Immaculata University men's lacrosse team was back in action as they traveled to Centenary University for an Atlantic East Conference game. Immaculata defeated Centenary 25-5 on Saturday afternoon.
Immaculata was led by
David Azzarano who registered a career-high 10 points with three goals and a career-high seven assists.
Connor Teears also had a career-high seven points with three goals and tied his career-high with four assists.
Nicholas DeFilippo and
Ben Wesolowski each recorded their first collegiate hat-tricks, and
Matthew Frame had his second career hat-trick.
Evan Petrecz registered his first collegiate two goal game.
Ryan Gorman, and
Robbie Wishart each scored two goals, and
Joseph Biuso,
Aidan Lawrence,
Bailey Manion, and
Liam Frazier each scored one goal apiece.
On the defensive end,
Zach Johnson had a career-high nine ground balls, and
Jake Klosinski had a career-high six ground balls.
Aidan Lawrence had five ground balls, and two caused turnovers.
Connor Teears, and
Ben Wesolowski each had two caused turnovers. Goalkeepers
Matthew Ludlow and
Max Cummings split the game. Ludlow made three saves, and
Max Cummings had two saves and had three ground balls.
In the first quarter of play,
David Azzarano got Immaculata started scoring the first goal, and then assisted on the next two goals scored by
Nicholas DeFilippo and
Ryan Gorman as Immaculata took the early 3-0 lead. Immaculata would lead 9-2 after the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Centenary scored early to cut Immaculata's lead to 9-3. Immaculata would respond with goals by
Ben Wesolowski,
Liam Frazier,
David Azzarano,
Joseph Biuso,
Robbie Wishart, and
Evan Petrecz to take a 15-3 lead into the halftime break.
Immaculata would score all seven goals scored in the third quarter and go on to close out the game and the win 25-5.
