IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University men's volleyball team earned a split in the doubleheader with Wilson College on Saturday afternoon.
Game One: Wilson 3, Immaculata 2
In the first match, Immaculata was led by
Josh McGurl with 17 kills, and 12 digs.
Jack Debes had six kills, and five digs.
Brandon Fox had six kills, four blocks, and four digs.
Brandon Lieberman had five kills, two blocks, and 12 digs.
Joe Martell had three kills, 34 assists, one service ace, and eight digs.
Michael Prall had three kills, and seven digs.
Matthew Pfister had 24 digs.
In the first set,
Michael Prall served six straight points to put Immaculata up 23-16, as the Mighty Macs took set one 23-16.
In set two, the teams exchanged the lead.
Brandon Fox got a kill from
Brandon Fox to pull within one at 24-23. Wilson would close out the set winning 25-23.
In set three,
Joe Martell served three consecutive points that included a kill from
Josh McGurl to put Immaculata ahead 14-7. Immaculata would win set three 25-14 on a kill from
Jack Debes.
Wilson would go on to take sets four and five to win the match 3-2.
Game Two: Immaculata 3, Wilson
In the second match, Immaculata was led by
Josh McGurl with 15 kills, and five digs.
Brandon Fox with six kills, two service aces, and five digs.
Jack Debes with five kills, and nine digs.
Brandon Lieberman with four kills, and seven digs.
Evan Timlin had three kills and five digs.
Joe Martell had two kills, two blocks, and four digs.
Matthew Pfister had six digs.
In the first set,
Brandon Fox served three straight points that included kills
Brandon Lieberman and
Brandon Fox to put Immaculata ahead 17-13.
Brandon Fox would close out the set with a service ace as Immaculata won set one 25-19.
In set two,
Michael Prall served four straight points to give Immaculata an early 9-3 lead.
Brandon Fox served three straight points, and Joe Martel served two straight points as Immaculata won set two 25-20.
In set three the teams would exchange points back and forth.
Brandon Fox served consecutive points to give immaculata a 22-19 lead. Immaculata would wrap up the 3-0 win taking set three 25-22 on a kill from
Brandon Lieberman.
