Azzarano's OT Winner Lifts Macs to Fourth Straight Win Defeating King's 7-6

IMMACULATA, Pa.- David Azzarano scored with 0:41 seconds remaining in the first overtime period to lift Immaculata to their fourth consecutive win, defeating King's College 7-6 at Draper Walsh Stadium on Friday evening.
Immaculata was led offensively by David Azzarano with four goals, including the game winner and one assist. Bailey Manion had two goals, increasing his career total to 98 goals, and Joseph Biuso had a goal. Nicholas DeFilippo had two assists on the evening.

Defensively, Matthew Ludlow was outstanding in goal making 17 saves, and adding three ground balls. Aidan Lawrence had three caused turnovers, and three ground balls. Robbie Wishart had a game high eight ground balls.

In the first quarter, Baily Manion opened the scoring with 12:04 remaining in the first quarter to give Immaculata an early 1-0 lead. King's College responded with strong defensive and scored the final three goals of the quarter to lead 3-1 after the first quarter.

In the second quarter, David Azzarano scored with 12:28 remaining to pull Immaculata back within one off an assist from Nicholas DeFilippo. David Azzarano would score his second goal of the game with 4:22 remaining in the quarter to tie the score at 3-3. Baily Manion would put Immaculata ahead 4-3 with a goal with 2:13 remaining. Immaculata would take a 4-3 into the halftime break.

In the third quarter, Joseph Biuso would extend Immaculata's lead to 5-3 with a goal with 6:29 remaining in the quarter. Kings would respond with a pair of goals 1:13 seconds apart to tie the score at 5-5. David Azzarano would put Immaculata back ahead 6-5 with his third goal for the game on an assist by Nicholas DeFilippo. Immaculata would take a 6-5 lead into the fourth quarter.

In the fourth quarter, King's tied the score 6-6 with 10:18 remaining. Both teams had chances to score throughout the remainder of regulation, but the defenses and goalkeepers were outstanding, and the game went into sudden victory overtime.

In the first overtime, Immaculata had three shot opportunities early, but could not find the back of the net. Kings had their chance to win, but Matthew Ludlow made a gave saving stop to give the Mighty Macs another chance. Following a timeout, David Azzarano came out from behind the goal to score to give the Mighty Macs the 7-6 win.
