Pilat Earns First Win as Mighty Macs Cruise to Win Over Cairn

LANGHORNE, Pa.- The Immaculata University men's lacrosse team defeated Cairn University 19-4 on Saturday afternoon, earning Head Coach Will Pilat his first win as head coach of the Mighty Macs!

The Mighty Macs were led by Bailey Manion with six goals, four assists, and 10 points. David Azzarano has two goals, four assists, and six points. Ryan Gorman had a career-high four goals. Joseph Biuso had one goal, four assists that tied a career high, and five points that also tied his career high. Connor Teears had two goals, two assists, and four points. Matthew Frame had one goal and one assist. Liam Frazier and Evan Petrecz each scored their first goals as Mighty Macs.

On the defensive side, goalkeepers Matthew Ludlow made nine saves in 37 minutes of playing time, and Max Cummings had four saves in 23 minutes of playing time. Aidan Lawrence and Jake Klosinski each had six groundballs, Robbie Wishart had five, Ben Wesolowski had four, and Joseph Biuso had two. Ben Wesolowski had two caused turnovers.

Immaculata opened the game scoring the first 12 goals to lead 12-0 with 4:25 remaining in the second quarter. Cairn would score with 3:41 remaining in the second quarter. Immaculata would take a 13-1 lead into the halftime break.

Immaculata would outscore Cairn 6-3 over the third and four quarters, to earn the win 19-4.

Immaculata out shot Cairn 55-23 and held a 32-21 advantage in groundballs. Cain led in faceoffs winning 15 to Immaculata's 11. Immaculata was 2-for-5 in extra man opportunities, while Cairn was 1-for-9.

The Immaculata University Men's Lacrosse team (1-1, 0-0 Atlantic East) will be back in action on Wednesday, February 28th, when they host Alvernia University for their home opener at Draper Walsh Stadium at 4:00 PM.
