Mighty Macs Fall at Neumann Earning Fifth Seed

ASTON, Pa.- The Immaculata University men's basketball team fell to Neumann on the road Friday evening. With the loss, Immaculata earns the fifth seed in the Atlantic East Conference tournament and will return to Neumann on Monday evening for their Quarterfinal game. 

Immaculata was led by John Proctor with 16 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Tyler Tillery had 11 points, nine rebounds, and one blocked shot. Gregory Vlassopoulos had 10 points, with three rebounds and two steals. Dinero Washington had eight points, and Robbie Logan and Mandon Seapoe each had six points. 

In the first half, Gregory Vlassopoulos gave Immaculata a 5-2 lead with a three-pointer. John Proctor and Dinero Washington would follow with layups as both teams would trade baskets. Trailing 26-20 with 4:45 remaining in the half, Immaculata responded. Robbie Logan hit a three-pointer to get Immaculata rolling. John Proctor scored on a layup, and Mondon Seapoe scored on a pair of layups as Immaculata took the lead 30-28. Gregory Vlassopoulos hit a three-pointer with 0:22 remaining in the half, as Immaculata led 41-33 at the halftime break. 

In the second half, John Proctor scored on a layup, followed by Tyler Tillery with another layup that gave Immaculata a 52-35 lead with 14:46 remaining in the game. Neumann would respond with a 21-point run to take the lead 58-56. Dinero Washington broke the run with a layup that tied the score at 58-58 with 3:58 remaining. Dylan Crews scored on a layup with 2:36 remaining to put Immaculata ahead 62-61. Neumann responded with a jumper and a pair of free throws to lead 67-64 in the final seconds. Robbie Logan's three-point attempt at the buzzer did not fall as Neumann held on for the win.

The Immaculata men's basketball team (13-12, 6-6 Atlantic East) earned the fifth seed in the Atlantic East Conference and will be back at the Mirenda Center on Monday, February 19th when they will play the fourth-seeded Neumann at 8:00 PM.
