IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University women's basketball team hosted Centenary in their annual "Play for Kay" Pink game at Alumnae Hall on Saturday afternoon. Three Mighty Macs scored in double figures, and two registered double-doubles as the Macs defeated Centenary 73-61 and secured a home game at Alumnae Hall.
Reese Mullins led Immaculata with 26 points, six rebounds, one assist, and two steals.
Abigail Lentowski registered a double-double scoring 18 points, with 10 rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Tessa Liberatoscioli had a double-double with 17 points, six assists 11 rebounds, one blocked shot, and four steals.
Morgan Falcone scored eight points, with three assists, five rebounds, and two steals.
Olivia Ettorre had four points, with three assists, two rebounds, and a blocked shot.
In the first quarter,
Reese Mullins scored the first six points of the game, with a layup, a three-pointer, and one foul shot to put Immaculata up 6-0 early.
Tessa Liberatoscioli hit a jumper late in the quarter to give Immaculata a 16-12 at the end of first quarter.
In the second quarter, Centenary cut the Immaculata lead to 16-14 with 9:42 remaining in the quarter.
Morgan Falcone would answer for Immaculata with a three-pointer the next time down the floor. Immaculata would get layup from
Reese Mullins, and a pair of jumpers from
Abigail Lentowski, and jumper from
Tessa Liberatoscioli to take a 29-21 lead with 5:10 remaining in the quarter. Centenary scored with 0:09 remaining in the quartet to close the Immaculata lead to two points.
Morgan Falcone dribbled the ball up the court and hit a jumper from the free throw line to beat the buzzer and to send Immaculata to the halftime break leading 35-31.
Tessa Liberatoscioli got Immaculata started in the third quarter, getting her own rebound and putting it back up for the basket. Centenary responded immediately and took a 38-37 lead with 7:17 left in the quarter. Immaculata would re-take the lead on a lay-up and a three-pointer by
Reese Mullins.
Morgan Falcone would follow up with a three-pointer of her own as Immaculata led 45-41.
Abigail Lentowski and
Tessa Liberatoscioli each hit jumpers, and
Reese Mullins hot four free-throws as Immaculata led 53-47 at the end of three quarters.
In the fourth quarter, Immaculata got layups from
Abigail Lentowski,
Reese Mullins,
Tessa Liberatoscioli, and
Olivia Ettorre as they closed out the win 73-61.
