Women's Basketball Edged by Albright, 50-47

READING, Pa.- The Immaculata women's basketball team had their five-game regular season win streak snapped on Wednesday night, falling to Albright 50-47. Carly Coleman led Immaculata scoring 13 points, and Olivia Ettorre scored 12 points.

With the loss, Immaculata falls to 6-2 overall. With the win, Albright improves to 4-2 overall.

How it Happened
  • Albright jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead, before Olivia Ettorre scored on a layup to put Immaculata on the board. She followed with another layup, and Carly Coleman scored to tie the game at 6-6 with 6:59 remaining in the first quarter. Carly Coleman would score on a tip in with 0:02 remaining as the first quarter ended tied at 13-13.
  • In the second quarter, Immaculata got early layups from Reese Mullins and Carly Coleman as the Mighty Macs took a 17-13 lead. Albright responded, opening a 21-17 lead, before Abigail Boyer hit a three-pointer with 4:50 remaining in the quarter to cut the lead to 21-20. Meg Robbins scored on a layup with 0:49 remaining in the quarter to put Immaculata up 28-26. Albright scored twice in the final 0:25 to take a 30-28 lead into halftime.
  • In the third quarter, Olivia Ettorre scored on a layup to tie the score at 30-30. With Albright leading 38-34, Immaculata got a free throw from Abigail Boyer and consecutive layups from Carly Coleman and Olivia Ettorre to take a 39-38 lead. Albright would score again in the dying seconds of the quarter to take a 40-39 lead into the fourth quarter.
  • In the fourth quarter Albright opened a five-point lead with 8:59 remaining in the game. Riley Cassidy scored on a layup and hit a pair of free throws to close the lead to 45-43. Olivia Ettorre tied the game at 45-45 with a jumper with 2:25 remaining. Riley Cassidy scored to put Immaculata ahead 47-45 with 1:08 to play. Albright hit one of two from the free throw line to cut the lead to 47-46.
  • Immaculata missed a layup chance to score, and then fouled Albright. Albright hit both free throws to take the lead 48-47 with 0:36 remaining. Immaculata missed two shots, and fouled Albright. Albright made both free throws to increase the lead to 50-47. Immaculata got a last shot, but Riley Cassidy's three-point attempt was no good, and Albright closed out the win.
