HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Immaculata men's basketball team overcame a 12-point deficit in the first half, to defeat the host Juniata 67-58 in their opening game of the Juniata Doc Greene Holiday Tournament. Dylan Crews led the Mighty Macs scoring 14 points, with four rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
With the win Immaculata improves to 5-7 overall on the season. With the loss Juniata falls to 0-10 on the season.
Immaculata advances to play in Monday's championship game vs NJCU.
How it Happened

The game began slowly and remained scoreless until Juniata finally opened the scoring with 16:55 remaining in the first half. Ryan Straub scored with 16:25 remaining to get Immaculata on the board. Immaculata struggled early shooting, and with turnovers as Juniata opened a 12-point lead at 27-15 with 4:59 remaining in the half.

Mandon Seapoe got Immaculata started with a three-pointer to cut the deficit to nine points. Kevin Telesford and Robbie Logan hit three-pointers of their own, and Samuel Jankowski followed with a layup to cut the lead to 30-27. Dylan Crews tied the score at 30-30 with a driving layup and hit the and one shot at the stripe to even the score. Ryan Straub hit one of two free throws as Immaculata trailed 32-31 at the halftime break. Dylan Crews led Immaculata with eight points, three rebounds and three assists in the first half.

In the second half, Jalen Flowers hit an early three-pointer to tie the score at 34-34. Dylan Crews followed with consecutive lay-ups to give Immaculata the lead at 38-36 with 17:28 remaining. Tym Richardson scored a pair of baskets for the Mighty Macs as they took a 42-40 lead. Samuel Jankowski hit a baseline three-pointer to beat the shot clock as Immaculata re-took the lead 47-44. Tym Richardson followed with a three-pointer of his own as Immaculata extended their lead to 50-44.
