COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.- The Immaculata University men's basketball team dropped their second game in the Ursinus College Bear Bash Tip-off Tournament, falling to Washington and Lee University 75-64. The Mighty Macs had considerable contribution from
Dinero Washington, leading the pack with 21, followed by a dozen points from
John Proctor.
Immaculata, now 0-2 on the early season, looks ahead to visiting Moravian University on Monday night (November 11th, 8pm tip-off).
Mighty Macs go ahead early
Immaculata jumped out to an early 8-2 lead in the contest.
Mandon Seapoe collected two steals in the first ninety seconds of play, keeping Washington and Lee off the board for the first four minutes.
John Flood scored the game's first points, while
Dinero Washington converted a three point jump shot and an and-one layup in transition. Washington's next triple and a
John Proctor layup gave the Mighty Macs a 13-8 edge midway through the first half. Â
Generals break offensive slump, Mighty Macs battle into the break
Washington and Lee scored on several of their ensuing possessions, making four layups, two free throws, and a pair of three point attempts in a six minute stretch. The Mighty Macs were slow to contest at times, allowing the Generals to capitalize and create a 30-22 advantage. Two minutes shy of halftime,
John Proctor made a faceup jumpshot from the right baseline on consecutive possessions.
Washington and Lee took a six point lead into the break, 36-30. The Generals hit the offensive glass harder than the Mighty Macs in the opening frame, corralling 9 offensive rebounds to Immaculata's 2.
Dinero Washington led the team with 13 points entering the break on 5-10 shooting. Immaculata fell into foul trouble late in the first half, as four Mighty Macs entered the break with multiple personal fouls.

John Flood,
Samuel Jankowski, and
John Proctor each made layups to begin the Macs' second-half scoring. The Generals kept pace with Immaculata, finding paint scores and fastbreak makes to maintain a six point edge at the 12:30 mark. A three pointer from
Dylan Crews brought the Macs' to a single possession deficit, as Immaculata trailed 50-47, before the Generals earned four free throws that gave them a 54-47 advantage. Despite three point makes from
Jalen Flowers and
Domenic Vacchiano in the following minutes, Washington and Lee clung to a double-digit advantage for much of the remaining clock. The Generals used three successful trips down the court to extend the lead to as much as 16 with 3:40 remaining. The Mighty Macs continued to press, but were unable to swipe the game down the stretch, leading to a 75-64 win for Washington and Lee.
