Men's Basketball Falls at Moravian in Non-Conference Match Up

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Immaculata men's basketball team (0-3) was back in action when they visited Bethlehem to play Moravian. Immaculata fell to Moravian 89-64 on Monday evening. 

Mandon Seapoe, and Robbie Conyers scored in double figures for the Mighty Macs. 

How it Happened 

Moravian opened the scoring early taking a 2-0 lead. Dinero Washington scored to even the score at 2-2. Mandon Seapoe hit a jumper, two free throws, and John Proctor hit a jumper to put Immaculata ahead 10-6. Moravian responded with an 11-point run to take a 17-10 lead. Mandon Seapoe ended the run with a layup.  

Moravian built their lead to 24-12 with 11:11 left in the first half. Immaculata would cut the lead to 24-17 when Domenic Vacchiano hit a three-pointer. Moravian lead stretched to 21 points late in the half when Samuel Jankowski scored for Immaculata. Moravian would lead 50-30 at halftime. 

In the second half, Moravian continued to apply their press on Immaculata forcing turnovers. Domenick Vacchiano hit a three-pointer, and Robbie Conyers hit a pair of three-pointers for Immaculata. Immaculata got additional baskets from Jalen Flowers, John Proctor, Samuel Jankowski, and Mandon Seapoe. Moravian would go on to close out the game winning 89-64.

  • John Proctor had six points, three assists, five rebounds and one steal. 

Team Stats 

  • Immaculata shot 35.4% (23-65) from the field, 25% (5-20) from behind the arc, and shot 68.4% (13-19) from the free throw line.  Immaculata scored 14 second-chance points, 26 points in the paint, and 15 points off turnovers. 

  • The game was tied three times, and the lead changed hands twice.
