READING, PA.- Julia Pohl came off the bench to score a career-high 11 points as one of three players who scored in double figures to help Immaculata roll past Penn State Berks 92-50 on Wednesday evening.
Immaculata, who has won their last three games, improves to 4-1 on the season while Penn State Berks falls to 0-5.
How it Happened
Penn State Berks jumped out to an early 6-1, before Rees Mullins and
Tessa Liberatoscioli scored on consecutive layups to cut the lead to 6-5. Penn State Berks responded taking a 13-11 lead with 3:19 remaining in the first quarter.
Meg Robbins immediately tied the score at 13-13 with layup. Immaculata would get a layup from
Tessa Liberatoscioli, a pair of free throws from
Reese Mullins, and a three-pointer from
Riley Cassidy as they led 22-15 after the first quarter.
Immaculata got things going in the second quarter with a basket from
Olivia Ettorre with 9:31 remaining in the quarter.
Julia Pohl followed with a layup as Immaculata led 26-19. When Penn State Berks cut the lead to 26-24, Tessa Liberatorscioli scored on a driving layup, and followed with a three-pointer to extend the Mighty Macs lead to 31-24. Immaculata would follow with a layup from
Olivia Ettorre, and
Abigail Boyer scored on a layup, drawing a foul and completed the three-point play. Immaculata would get additional buckets from
Reese Mullins and
Carly Coleman, and a three-pointer from
Julia Pohl as they took a 47-26 lead into the halftime break.
In the third quarter, Immaculata got a three-pointer from
Reese Mullins, and a steal and a driving layup from
Tessa Liberatoscioli to extend the lead to 52-26. Immaculata would go to their bench early in the third quarter.
Kaylia Rice scored her first points of her collegiate career on a layup off an assist from Riley Casidy with 2:56 remaining in the quarter.
Cassidy Perri hit a three-pointer with 0:39 remaining in the quarter for her first collegiate points. Immaculata led 75-39 after three quarters of play.
In the fourth quarter, Immaculata would get a three-pointer from
Emma Wagner,
Francesca Scarpone, and
Victoria Foster.
Kaylia Rice,
Cassidy Perri, and
Meg Robbins would each score as Immaculata closed out the win 92-50.
