HAVERFORD, Pa.- The Immaculata men's basketball team (0-4) was back in action on Tuesday evening when they traveled to play at Haverford College (3-1). Immaculata fell to Haverford 83-72.
How it Happened
Haverford jumped out quickly to a 9-2 lead, before John Proctor hit a three-pointer to cut the lead to 9-5 with 16:14 remaining in the half. The Fords would extend their lead to 18 at 23-5 with 9:57 remaining in the half.
Immaculata began fighting their way back into the game with a layup by Samuel Jankowski, and a jumper by Jalen Flowers. Samuel Jankowski scored on a layup and drew a foul and completed the three-point play at the line. Immaculata trimmed the Haverford lead to five at 27-22 with 3:27 remaining in the half. Haverford would respond with back-to-back three-pointers to take a 39-27 lead into the halftime break.
In the second half, Haverford scored early to extend the lead to 43-27. Domenic Vacchiano hit a three-pointer to break the run, then Ryan Straub followed with a layup. Haverford responded with another three-pointer. Mandon Seapoe scored on a layup, and Ryan Straub added another layup for Immaculata.
Immaculata would later get three-pointers from Dinero Washington and John Flood, and layups from Dylan Crews, John Proctor, and Dinero Washington. Haverford would go on to close out the win 83-72.
