IMMACULATA, Pa.- Marymount used a pair of second half goals to defeat Immaculata 3-1 in Atlantic East Conference women's action on Wednesday evening at Draper Walsh Stadium.
Immaculata falls to 5-7-1 overall, and 1-1-0 AEC on the season. Marymount improves to 3-8-2, and 1-0-0 AEC this season.
Carly Coleman pulled Immaculata to within one with her goal in the 78th minute on an assist from
Marissa Birmingham. Marymount was able to extend their lead to 3-1 in the 85th minute to close out the 3-1 win.
How it Happened
- Marymount generated a couple of early chances in the game but were unable to get the ball on frame early.
- Marymount got the first shot on goal in the 14th minute when Emily Guthier stopped Daniela Carrillo-Torres shot.
- Gabby Palladino had a pair of shots on goal for Immaculata in the 18th and 19th minutes that were saved by Marymount goalkeeper Mara DuFour.
- In the 28th minute Emily Guthier made another save on a shot by Daniela Carillo-Torres.
- Rachel McNamee had a shot on goal stopped by Mara DuFour in the 29th minute of play.
- Marymount opened the scoring in the 40th minute when Daniela Carillo-Torres scored off an assist by Eliza Diggs to give Marymount a 1-0 that they would carry into halftime.
- Marymount came out attacking in the second half forcing Emily Guthier to make three early saves to keep the score 1-0.
- Marymount extended their lead to 2-0 in the 52nd minute when Breanna Harkins scored off an assist by Marissa Tonic.
- In the minutes following the goal Immaculata goalkeeper Emily Guthier made three saves, including a pair of close in attempts by Nicole Alvarado to keep Immaculata within two goals.
- Immaculata would pull back within a goal in the 78th minute when Natalene Clemson played a ball out wide to Rachel McNamee who crossed the with her left foot that hit the crossbar. The rebound was picked by Marissa Birmingham whose shot was saved by DuFour. Carly Coleman got the rebound and knocked it in for her third goal of the season to make the score 2-1.
- Emily Guthier made another big save for Immaculata in the 82nd minute.
- Marymount extended their lead to 3-1 in the 85th minute when Nicole Alvarado scored to seal the game for the Saints.
