Coleman and McNamee Score in Second Half as Macs Win at Centenary 2-1

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J.- Senior Rachel McNamee scored the go-ahead goal in the 67th minute to help Immaculata to a 2-1 win at Centenary in Atlantic East Conference women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon.

The Mighty Macs improve to 6-7-1 overall and are now 2-1-0 in Atlantic East Conference play. Centenary drops to 4-8-0 overall, and 0-2-0 in Atlantic East Conference play.

How it Happened
  • Immaculata went on offense early in the first half when Rachel McNamee generated the first shot on goal at the 0:43 mark that was saved by Centenary goalkeeper Emma Ferfecki.
  • Gabby Palladino with three, Rachel McNamee had one additional shot on goal that were all saved by Ferfecki.
  • Emily Guthier made three saves in the first half for Immaculata as the game went scoreless into halftime.
  • In the second half, Carly Coleman opened the scoring in the 48th minute running down a through ball played by Samantha Seidito for a breakaway goal to give Immaculata a 1-0 lead.
  • Centenary leveled the score at 1-1 in the 66th minute on a goal by Lilliana Flores assisted by Jessica Smith.
  • The game did not remain tied long, as the ball found Rachel McNamee in front of the net off a corner kick who scored to give Immaculata a 2-1 lead in the 67th minute.
  • Rachel McNamee had a pair of shots in the 88th minute that were saved by Ferfecki.
  • Immaculata would go on to close out the 2-1 win.
