ST. DAVIDS, Pa.- The Immaculata women's volleyball team (2-9, 0-0 AEC) fell to Eastern University (11-5, 2-0 MAC CW) in Friday night's non-conference match up at Eastern. The Eagles took the match 3-0 (25-6, 25-8, and 25-16).
Jenna Bozzo had three kills, four assists, one service ace, and two digs.
Dinah Stabinski had 13 digs, and
Mia Esposito had four blocks for Immaculata.
How it Happened
- Eastern jumped out fast in the first set building a 10-0 lead on the serve of Elle Jiron-Bujunda.
- Mel Mann had a kill for Immaculata in the first set.
- Eastern would win the first set 25-6.
- In the second set Immaculata opened a quick 3-0 lead as Jenna Bozzo served all three points that included a service ace, and a block by Mia Esposito and Mel Mann.
- Immaculata would get a pair of kills from Alayah Phifer and a kill from Jenna Bozzo in the second set.
- Eastern would use and 11-point run on their way to taking set two 25-8.
- In the third set, Eastern got out to a 6-0 lead.
- Immaculata got a side out on a block by Mia Esposito and Alayah Phifer, and Alayah Phifer served three consecutive points. The run included a service ace and kills from Mia Esposito and Mel Mann as Immaculata cut the lead to 6-4.
- Immaculata would get points on blocks from Mia Esposito, Mel Mann, and Calissa Araujo, and points on kills from Araujo, Mann, Alayah Phifer, and Christina Lenzo in the third set.
- Eastern would go on to take set three 25-16 and the match 3-0.
