Field Hockey Travels to Kean for Non-Conference Game on Saturday

THE STORYLINE
  • Immaculata (4-6) is back in action on Saturday, October 5th, when they travel to Union, N.J. to face Kean University (3-7) for another tough test before the start of the conference play.
  • Immaculata enters the game after falling Stockton on Wednesday, 3-0. Immaculata will look to build off a strong fourth quarter of play from Wednesday.
  • Kean, who appeared in the Final Four in 2023, enter Saturday's game having dropped their last three games. The Cougars lost at DeSales 5-1 on Wednesday evening.

  • Alexis Andrada registered four shot attempts, including one on goal. Andrada who is one goal shy of the freshman goal scoring record, hit the post with a reverse back hand shot in the fourth quarter. Andrada has a team high seven goals this season.
  • Captain Gabrielle O'Brien had a strong game in her return to the Immaculata line-up generating two shots, with one on goal. It appeared as O'Brien got the Mighty Macs on the board in the fourth quarter, but the goal was waived off due to the ball being played with a foot.
  • Captain Della George continues to be a presence on both ends of the field for the Mighty Macs. George generated a shot and blocked two shots as Immaculata successfully defended 11 out of 13 penalty corner attempts by the Ospreys. George has three goals and four assists this season.
  • Goalkeeper Julia Levase made nine saves against Stockton.
  • The Mighty Macs came alive in the fourth quarter of the game against Stockton generating six shots and three penalty corners. The Macs limited Stockton to four shots and one penalty corner in the fourth quarter.
  • Immaculata is averaging 8.6 shots per game, and their opponents are averaging 15.7 shots per game.

  • Kean has been led on offense by junior midfielder Shannon Conroy with four goals and two assists, and senior midfielder Kelsey Corbett with four goals.
  • Freshman defender Adrianna Duda has three goals and one assist, sophomore midfielder Jazmyne Frack has two goals and a team-high three assists, and senior defender Maddison Gonzales has two goals and two assists.
  • Freshman goalkeeper Daniella Maresca has started and played all 10 games for the Cougars is 3-7 with a 3.06 goals-against average. She has made 80 saves on 144 shots faced.
  • Kean is averaging 12.3 shots per game, and their opponents are averaging 16.1 shots per game.
  • Kean has wins over Misericordia (3-1), St. Lawrence (3-2), and Vassar (4-3). Kean has lost to Ithaca (4-0), Arcadia (2-1 OT), Bryn Mawr (4-1), William Smith (3-0), SUNY New Paltz (4-3 OT), Alvernia (3-0), and DeSales (5-1).
