Women's Soccer Travels to Neumann for AEC Game on Wednesday Afternoon

THE STORYLINE
  • The Immaculata women's soccer team (6-8-1, 2-2-0 AEC) is looking to bounce back from Saturday's setback against Pratt when they visit Neumann on Wednesday for an important AEC game.
  • Immaculata enters Wednesday's game after falling to Pratt Institute 3-2 at home on Saturday in their Atlantic East Conference game. Mia Perrone and Addison Yackel scored for the Mighty Macs.
  • Neumann (7-8, 3-1 AEC) enters Wednesday's game off a pair of Atlantic East Conference wins last week. The Knights defeated Pratt 5-1 on October 16th, and then defeated Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday 2-0.

  • Immaculata and Neumann are meeting for the 28th time in their series that began back in 2021.

THEIR LAST MEETING MIGHTY MAC NOTES

  • Addison Yackel found the top corner of the net from 18-yards out for her first collegiate goal in the second half of Saturday's game. Yackel has played a vital role for the Mighty Macs this season coming off the bench.
  • Rachel McNamee continues to lead the Mighty Macs offense with six goals and 12 points this season. McNamee had nine shot attempts, and five shots on goal on Saturday.
  • Gabby Palladino registered her team high fifth assist on Perrone's goal on Saturday.

  • Junior defender Jaclyn Burmood has two goals and four assists from the defensive side for the Knights.
  • Junior Lex Navarro is 5-1 with 0.92 goals against average with two shutouts, and sophomore Kiki Soto is 2-5 with 1.87 goals-against average with two shutouts have split time in goal this season for the Knights.
  • Neumann is averaging 14.4 shots per game, and their opponents are averaging 12.3 shots per game.

WEEKLY HONORS
  • Mia Perrone was named to the Atlantic East Conference Women's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon. Perrone scored one goal and had one assist figuring on both of Immaculata's goals in their Atlantic East Conference game vs Pratt Institute on Saturday.
ATLANTIC EAST CONFERENCE
  • With only two games remaining in the regular season, the Immaculata women's soccer is in a tight race for one of five spots in the Atlantic East Conference playoffs.
  • Marymount currently sits atop the conference at 3-0-1, while Marywood is 2-0-1. Neumann currently occupies third spot in the conference at 3-1, while Immaculata sits in fourth at 2-2. Gwynedd Mercy and Pratt are tied for fifth and sixth at 1-3. Centenary currently is in sixth at 0-3.
  • The top five teams qualify for the Atlantic East Conference Tournament starting on November 2nd with the #4 seed hosting the #5 seed in the First Round. The First-Round winner will advance to the Semifinals and play at the #1 seed, and the #2 seed will host the #3 seed in the Semifinals on Wednesday, November 6th. The semifinal winners will meet for the Atlantic East Conference Championship and the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament at the higher seed on Saturday, November 9th.
