Hernandez Scores Hat Trick in Dominating Win over Centenary Cyclones

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata women's soccer claimed their 10th win of the season in spectacular fashion, grabbing a 6-0 win over the Centenary University Cyclones behind a three-goal day from Flora Hernandez. The 10th win broke the Immaculata women's soccer program record, which was previously set in 2007 and 2009 (nine wins each).

Saturday was Senior Day for women's soccer. The team honored Sam Terry, Mackenzie Cash, Natalene Clemson, Mia Perrone, and Heather Russell pregame.

The Mighty Macs are 10-4 for the season. They are 5-1 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST CENTENARY (N.J.)
  • The Mighty Macs' offense was aggressive right away, as they logged six corner kick opportunities in the initial 13 minutes. Gracie Repici broke the scoreless tie in the 20th minute on a Liz Anderson assist. Addison Yackel would chime in in the 31st minute on an unassisted score, followed by Hernandez dropping a shot in the net on a Terry assist. Immaculata continued shooting to finish the half, but Centenary's goalie recorded a save just before the buzzer sounded. It was 3-0 at the break.
  • Hernandez picked up right where she left off to open the second frame. In the span of two-and-a-half minutes, she put two more shots past the Cyclones' goalie. The first was assisted by Lily McGee; the second from Yackel. Sophia Mazzotta concluded the Mighty Macs' scoring rampage on a Cash dime in the 72nd minute. Immaculata was victorious 6-0, and they swept Centenary in both matches this season.
