THE STORYLINE
  • The Immaculata Field Hockey Team (7-8, 1-1 AEC) returns to Draper Walsh Stadium to host rival Gwynedd Mercy in an important Atlantic East Conference game on Wednesday afternoon.
  • Immaculata enters Wednesday's game after falling to the Marywood 2-2 in double overtime in Scranton on Saturday. Kailey Mayoros scored Immaculata's lone goal, and Julia Levase made 16 saves in goal for Immaculata.
  • Gwynedd Mercy (3-11, 1-0 AEC) enters Wednesday's game after defeating Neumann 5-0 at home on Saturday.
THE SERIES
  • This will be the 25th meeting between Immaculata and Gwynedd Mercy in their series that began back in 2006.
  • Immaculata is 3-21 all-time vs Gwynedd Mercy having taken the last three games.
THEIR LAST MEETING
  • Immaculata defeated Gwynedd Mercy 1-0 in overtime in their Atlantic East Conference Quarterfinals on October 28, 2023, at Draper Walsh Stadium.

MIGHTY MAC NOTES

  • Alexis Andrada continues to lead the Mighty Macs on offense with a team high eight goals and 17 points this season. Andrada has three game winning goals this season. Andrada's next goal will set a new program freshman goal scoring record.
  • Della George is second on the team in scoring with three goals, and a team high five assists. George is a factor on both the offensive and defensive ends for Immaculata.
  • Immaculata has gotten strong play from their midfielders including Abby Fekete, Jillian Vandenbraak, Della George, Emilyn Bivens, and Stephanie Webb.
  • Madalyn Bonner leads the Immaculata defensive core. Bonner is tied for the Atlantic East Conference lead with three defensive saves this season.
  • Immaculata successfully defended 29-out-31 penalty corners for Marywood on Saturday.
  • Immaculata's defense of Madalyn Bonner, Kaitlin Gale, Rory Watson, and Rachel Madden have done an excellent job limiting opponent's chances.
  • Goalkeeper Julia Levase made sixteen saves, including four in overtime vs Marywood on Saturday.
  • Immaculata is averaging 10.1 shots per game, and their opponents are averaging 14.9 shots per game.
SCOUTING GWYNEDD MERCY
  • Senior midfielder Laura Filchner with seven goals and three assists, junior forward Mackenzie Reed with seven goals and one assist, and sophomore forward Leany Santana lead the Griffins offense.
  • Senior forward Ashley Berry and sophomore midfielder Lillie Uttenreither each have one goal and three assists.
  • Senior Morgan Lawless is 3-5 with a 3.06 goals-against average with three shutouts, and freshman Kelly Weaver with 0-6 with a 3.18 goals-against average have split time in goal this season for Gwynedd Mercy. Lawless earned the shutout vs Neumann on Saturday making one save.
  • Gwynedd Mercy is averaging 9.1 shots per game, and their opponents are averaging 15.9 shots per game.
 
WEEKLY HONORS
  • Kailey Mayoros and Julia Levase were both named to the Atlantic East Conference Field Hockey Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon.
  • Kailey Mayoros had two goals and was part of all three goals for Immaculata this week. She had the game-winning goal in Immaculata's 2-0 win over Cedar Crest on October 14th and put the shot on goal that led to Immaculata's second goal in the 2-0 win. Mayoros scored in the fourth quarter for Immaculata to tie their conference game with Marywood which sent the game to overtime on Saturday.
  • Julia Levase made a season-high 16 saves on 30 shots faced against Marywood in their double overtime Atlantic East Conference game on October 19th. Four of Levase 16 saves were in the overtime periods.
ATLANTIC EAST CONFERENCE
  • With only two remaining games in the regular season, the Immaculata field hockey team is locked in a tight race for one of four spots in the Atlantic East Conference playoffs.
  • Marywood sits atop the conference at 2-0. Gwynedd Mercy is 1-0 thanks to their win over Neumann on Saturday. Immaculata currently sits in third at 1-1. Manhattanville is 0-1 having fallen to Immaculata in their only conference game. Neumann currently sits at 0-2 having lost to Marywood and Gwynedd Mercy.
  • The top two seeds will host semifinal games in the Atlantic East Tournament on Saturday, November 2nd.

  • The Immaculata field hockey team will be back in action on Wednesday, October 30th for their final regular season game when they visit Neumann for a 4:00 pm game.
