MEDIA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's basketball team got back in the win column, defeating Penn State Brandywine 79-68.
Abigail Lentowski led the way for Immaculata scoring 19 points, including 17 points in the third quarter, with five rebounds, and two steals.
Morgan Falcone scored 18 points, five assists, and team high seven rebounds and three steals.
Olivia Ettorre scored 10 points.
Mary deSimone scored seven points.
Reese Mullins scored six points.
Francesca Scarpone scored five points.
Tessa Liberatoscioli scored four points and blocked three shots.
Abigail Boyer scored three points and had six rebounds.
Victoria Foster had three points.
Emma Wagner and
Julia Pohl each scored two points.
In the first quarter, Immaculata struggled to get their footing in the game as Penn State Brandywine jumped out to a quick 6-1 lead.
Morgan Falcone got things going for Immaculata with a three pointer, and then tied the game with a jumper to tie the score at 6-6 6:47 remaining in the quarter. Penn State Brandywine would score late in quarter to hold a 17-15 lead after the first quarter.
Immaculata tied the score early in the second quarter on a layup by
Tessa Liberatoscioli. Immaculata would use the three pointer in the second quarter as
Mary deSimone hit a three, and
Morgan Falcone would hit a pair of three pointers later as Immaculata took a 32-26 lead with 4:53 remaining. Immaculata would lead 37-32 at halftime.
Morgan Falcone led Immaculata in scoring in the first half with 14 points going 5-for-8 from the floor and 3-for-5 from behind the arc.
In the third quarter, Penn State Brandywine came out quickly with three consecutive baskets to take a 38-37 lead. Immaculata would respond immediately with layups from
Abigail Lentowski and
Reese Mullins to regain the lead at 41-38.
Lentowski would then score the next 11 points for Immaculata. The Mighty Macs would get additional scoring from
Morgan Falcone,
Olivia Ettorre and a three pointer from
Abigail Boyer as they led 65-51 after three quarters.
Abigail Lentowski scored 17 points the third quarter for the Mighty Macs.
In the fourth quarter, Immaculata would see it's lead increase to 20 points on a three-pointer by
Victoria Foster at 79-59 with 2:31 remaining. Penn State Brandywine would finish the game on a 9-0 run as Immaculata closed out the win 79-58.
