IMMACULATA, Pa.- Five Players scored in double figures as Immaculata defeated Marywood 78-68 in an Atlantic East Conference game on Wednesday evening.
Immaculata fell behind early as Marywood was shooting well from the floor.
Abigail Boyer hit consecutive baskets and a three pointer to pull Immaculata to within two with 3:41 remaining in the first quarter. Â Marywood would lead 22-18 after the first quarter.
Marywood would continue their hot shooting in the second quarter building their lead to 11 points with 8:06 remaining in the half. Immaculata would begin to chip away at the lead with a basket from
Abigail Boyer, and layup and a three pointer from
Morgan Falcone to pull within five.
Morgan Falcone would hit a pair a free throws with 0:02 as Immaculata trailed 39-37 at the half.
In the third quarter, Immaculata took the lead at 41-39 on a layup by
Abigail Lentowski. Marywood responded with a run a took a 55-47 lead with 0:46 remaining. Â Immaculata would finish the quarter with a jumper from
Abigail Lentowski and a three pointer from
Reese Mullins to close Marywood's lead to 55-52 after three quarters.
In the fourth quarter,
Emma Wagner hit a three pointer to tie the score at 55-55. Immaculata would take the lead for good with 6:08 remaining when
Reese Mullins hit a three pointer. Down the stretch Immaculata would get baskets from
Tessa Liberatoscioli,
Abigail Boyer, and
Reese Mullins on their way to winning the game 78-68.
Immaculata was led by
Tessa Liberatoscioli who recorded a triple-double scoring 12 points, with 11 rebounds, 11 assists, one blocked shot and five steals. This was the first triple-double for an Immaculata women's basketball player since Kasey Hicks back on February 14, 2008 against Notre Dame of Maryland University.Â
Abigail Lentowski scored 16 points with five rebounds and three blocked shots.
Reese Mullins scored 16 points with six rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
Abigail Boyer scored a career-high 15 points with six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
Morgan Falcone scored 11 points with five rebounds and one steal.
Emma Wagner scored seven points.
