IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata men's basketball team fell to Yeshiva University 99-92 in a non-conference match up on Thursday evening at Alumnae Hall.
The Maccabees opening the scoring on their first possession with a three pointer.
Gregory Vlassopoulos responded with a three pointer of his own to even the score at 3-3. After the team's exchanged baskets, Immaculata took a 7-6 lead with 18:13 remaining in the half. Yeshiva would go on a 12-point run to extend their lead to 20-7, before
Dinero Washington would break the run with a jumper. Yeshiva would lead 40-32 at the half.
Greg Vlassopoulos led Immaculata in the first half with 13 points, shooting 5-for-7 from the field, and 3-for-4 from behind the arc.
Dinero Washington had eight points in the first half.
In the second half, Immaculata got off to a quick start with early baskets from
Dylan Crews,
Dinero Washington, and a three pointer from
Tim Schultice. Yeshiva responded each time driving the basket for layups to keep Immaculata at bay. Immaculata would get a pair of three pointers from
Gregory Vlassopoulos and a pair of three pointers from
Robbie Logan to cut the Yeshiva's lead down to five points on multiple occasions.
Gregory Vlassopoulos hit a three pointer and drew the foul to complete the four-point play to pull Immaculata back within two at 77-75 with 5:12 remaining. Yeshiva responded with a three-pointer of their own to extend their lead back to five.
Dinero Washington would shoot 7-for-7 from foul line down the stretch to keep the Macs in the game. Yeshiva would go on to close out the win 99-92.
Dinero Washington led Immaculata with a career-high 25 points, shooting 7-for-12 from the floor, and 11-for-14 from the foul line, with four rebounds and two steals.
Gregory Vlassopoulos tied his career high with 24 points with a career high six three pointers shooting 6-for-10 from behind the arc, with four rebounds, one steal and one blocked shot.
Dylan Crews scored 15 points, with two rebounds and two steals.
Tim Schultice scored nine points, with four rebounds.
Robbie Logan had a career high six points, with two rebounds.
