HACKETTSTOWN,NJ.- The Immaculata women's basketball team dropped their Atlantic East Conference matchup to Centenary by a score of 66-65.
The Cyclones took an early advantage in the first quarter, outscoring the Mighty Macs by a score of 23-17. The Macs leaned on their battle tested starting five to outscore the Cyclones 17-10 in the second frame. At the break, the Macs held a 34-33 advantage.
Abigail Lentowski led the way with 10 first half points, while bringing in six rebounds.
The third quarter would see the Macs maintain their one-point lead, using a 5-2 run to close out the final seconds.
Opening the fourth quarter, the Cyclones quickly took a one-point lead, before Immaculata responded with a 6-0 run in a 40 second stretch. Immaculata would extend their lead to as many as eight points down the wire, before a pair of turnovers allowed a last second heave from the Cyclones to hit the bottom of the net for a game winning 66-65 bucket.
Abigail Lentowski finished the game with 16 points and 16 rebounds, while
Tessa Liberatoscioli added 16 points, eight rebounds, and six steals.
Morgan Falcone contributed with 10 points.
The Immaculata women's basketball team is back in action as they continue Atlantic East play on the road at Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday, January 20
th with a 1:00 PM start.
