IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University women's basketball team defeated Neumann 73-49 in an Atlantic East Conference game on Saturday afternoon at Alumnae Hall.
Immaculata was led by
Tessa Liberatoscioli with 17 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, three blocked shots, and five steals.
Abigail Lentowski scored 17 points, with seven rebounds, and one steal. During the game Lentowski recorded her 500th career rebound with 5:33 remaining in the second quarter.Â
Abigail Boyer scored 12 points and added two rebounds.
Reese Mullins scored nine points, with seven assists, with one block, and two steals.
Morgan Falcone scored eight points, with four assists, five rebounds, and locked it down on defense for the Mighty Macs.
In the first quarter, Neumann opened a quick 4-0 lead.
Morgan Falcone got Immaculata started with a three pointer. Immaculata followed with a pair of baskets from
Tessa Liberatoscioli, and a pair of three pointers from
Abigail Boyer to take a 13-6 lead with 5:05 remaining. Immaculata would get a buzzer beating basket from
Olivia Ettorre to take a 30-10 lead into the second quarter.
Immaculata started second quarter with a three pointer from
Morgan Falcone, and a jumper from Tessa Liberatroscioli to increase their lead to 35-10. Neumann responded with a 15-point run to cut the Immaculata to ten at 35-25.
Abigail Boyer would break the run for Immaculata with a free throw, and a lay up with
Abigail Boyer. She would hit another free throw late to give the Mighty Macs a 39-29 lead at the half.
In the third quarter Immaculata took control early with a jumper by
Reese Mullins, and a jumper from
Abigail Boyer.
Tessa Liberatoscioli followed with three pointer as Immaculata took a 46-31 with 6:37 remaining in the quarter. Immaculata would carry a 57-37 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Mighty Macs would go on to close out the win 73-49.
As a team, Immaculata shot 45.9% Â (28-for-61) from the field, 43.8% (7-for-16) from behind the arc, and 76.9% (10-13) from the line.
