Mighty Macs Drop Bout with Mustangs

OWINGS MILLS, MD.- The Immaculata field hockey team traveled to Stevenson University for a non-conference matchup Monday evening. Stevenson would go on to take the match by a score of 3-0.

Stevenson would jump out to an early 2-0 lead in the first quarter with goals in the 7th and 12th minute of action. The score would remain 2-0 heading into the break. The Mustangs would add a 3rd goal in the 39th minute of play.

The Immaculata offense was quiet through three quarters, with Lauren Vandenbraak tallying the Mighty Macs lone shot through the first 45 minutes of play. A defensive save by a Mustang player would keep Vandenbraak from finding the back of the net.

In the fourth quarter, the Mighty Macs tallied five shots on goal, with Gabrielle O'Brien leading the way with two, as well as Vandenbraak, Della George, and Gina Moreno all adding one. The Mustangs would use three more defensive saves in the period to prevent the Mighty Macs from cutting into their lead.

The Mighty Macs drew three penalty corners on the night.

The Immaculata field hockey team is back in action on Wednesday, September 27th when they travel to Allentown to take on Cedar Crest College for a 6:00 PM start.
