IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's volleyball team fell to Eastern University in their home opener by a score of 3-0.
In the first set, Immaculata took an early 2-1 lead on a service ace from
Emily Ettien. Eastern quickly regained the lead at 3-2, before    Immaculata evened the score at 3-3 on a kill by
Isabella Ridgell. Eastern would use a seven-point run to open a 10-4 lead. Eastern went on to take the first set 25-8.
In set two, Eastern jumped out to a quick lead at 5-1. Immaculata would earn consecutive points on a block by
Ava Thorley and a kill by
Emma Hodgson to close the score to 6-4. Eastern would use a four-point run and a three-point run on their way to taking set two 25-15.
Eastern would go on to close out the match taking set three by a score of 25-13.
On the offensive side
Ava Thorley,
Emily Ettien, and
Mia Esposito each registered three kills for the Mighty Macs.
Emily Ettien added seven assists and one service ace.
Christina Lenzo distributed six assists and added one service ace.
On the defensive side for the Macs,
Lily Burnette registered eight digs,
Dinah Stabinski added 6 digs, and
Emily Ettien had four digs.
Emma Hodgson and
Calissa Araujo each had two blocks, and
Ava Thorley added one block.
The Immaculata women's volleyball team (5-2) will be back in action on Friday night, September 15
th when they host Cheyney University at Alumnae Hall at 7:00 PM.
