IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's tennis team defeated Marywood University 5-3 in their Atlantic East Conference Semifinal match on Wednesday afternoon. With the win Immaculata advances to the Atlantic East Conference Championship for the fourth consecutive season.

In doubles action, Annamarie Degnan and Pamela Kontaras won the first doubles match 8-2. Delaney Brown and Katie Gardner lost the second doubles match 8-6, and Jenna Muttik and Audrey Keen won the third doubles 8-3. Immaculata held a 2-1 lead going into the singles matches.

In singles action, Annamarie Degnan lost the first singles match 4-6, 0-6. Pamela Kontaras won the second singles match 6-4, 6-3. Delaney Brown lost the third singles match 0-6, 3-6. Jenna Muttik won the fourth singles match 6-0, 6-2. Katie Gardner won fifth singles match 6-4, 6-3. The sixth singles match was not finished as Sydney Mehaffey won the first set 6-4 and lost the second set 4-6. The third set was not played since Immaculata had clinched the win 5-3.

Immaculata Women's Tennis will attempt to recapture the Atlantic East Conference title when they travel to Marymount University on Friday afternoon for the Atlantic East Conference Championship match at 1:00 PM.
