IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata men's lacrosse team fell to Marywood in their Atlantic East Conference match on Wednesday evening by a score of 7-6.
Immaculata was led offensively by
Bailey Manion with three goals and one assist,
Connor Teears with two goals, and
Anthony Inserra with three assists.
Matthew Ludlow turned in another impressive performance in goal for Immaculata making 24 saves and picking up five ground balls.
Immaculata opened the scoring with only 2:40 remaining in the first quarter when
Joseph Biuso scored on an assist from
Anthony Inserra. Immaculata would lead the game 1-0 at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Marywood tied the game at 1-1 with a goal with 5:40 remaining in the quarter. The game would go into the halftime break tied at 1-1.
In the third quarter, Immaculata would take a 3-1 lead, as
Bailey Manion would score consecutive goals. Marywood scored late in the third quarter and closed the Mighty Macs lead to 3-2 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Immaculata would increase their lead to 4-2 on a goal by
Bailey Manion on an assist from Antony Inserra. Marywood responded to with two quick goals to tie the score at 4-4. Immaculata would retake the lead with 10:42 remaining on a man up goal from
Connor Teears. Marywood scored the next three goals to take a 7-5 lead with 5:38 remaining in the game. Immaculata would pull back with in one goal when
Connor Teears scored with 4:26 remaining. The Mighty Macs were unable to find the tying goal, and Marywood held on to take the 7-6 win.
The Immaculata men's lacrosse team (8-6, 1-3 AEC) will be back in action on Saturday, April 22
nd when they host Centenary University at Draper Walsh Stadium for an Atlantic East Conference game at 2:00 PM.
