Azzarano Reaches Milestone in Mighty Macs Record Setting Performance

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata men's lacrosse team defeated Centenary University 26-2 on Saturday afternoon. This 24-goal margin of victory was a new Immaculata men's lacrosse program team record for largest margin of victory in a single game. The previous record of 22 was set back in 2012. The team's 31 faceoff wins was a new program record for team faceoff wins, breaking the record of 23 set back in 2014, and set a new program record for team faceoff winning percentage with 1.000% winning 31-out of-31.

In the first quarter, Immaculata got on the board in the game's first minute as Connor Teears scored on an assist from David Azzarano. Joseph Biuso, Anthony Inserra, Ben Wesolowski and David Azzarano all scored goals in the first quarter as Immaculata led 12-0 heading into the second quarter.

In the second quarter, David Azzarano scored a goal with 6:35 remaining in the quarter, which was the 100th career point of his college career. Joseph Biuso, Robbie Wishart, and Matthew Frame each scored as the Mighty Macs led 16-1 going into halftime.

In the third quarter, Bill Hill, and Colton Rhoades each scored the first goals of their collegiate careers. Connor Teears and Matthew Frame each scored twice as Immaculata carried a 22-1 lead into the fourth quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Bailey Manion, Nicholas Dimonda, and Ben Wesolowski each scored goals as Immaculata closed out the 26-2 win.

Bailey Manion and David Azzarano each registered four goals and five assists to the lead the Macs offense. Connor Teears scored five goals, Matthew Frame scored three goals, and Joseph Biuso, Anthony Inserra, and Ben Wesolowski each scored two goals. Colton Rhoades had six ground balls and two caused turnovers for the Macs. Trey Rorer and Tyler Hoagland were each 11-for-11, and Michael Long was 9-for-9 on faceoffs.

The Immaculata men's lacrosse team will be back in action on Wednesday, April 26th when they travel to play at Marymount University for their final Atlantic East Conference regular season game at 6:00 PM.
