IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata men's lacrosse team took down SUNY Delhi in their season opener on Sunday by a score of 14-6.
In the first quarter SUNY Delhi opened the scoring with 14:05 remaining in the quarter.
Anthony Inserra go Immaculata on the board with 11:07 remaining on an assist by
David Azzarano. Immaculata took their first lead three minutes later when
David Azzarano scored on an assist by
Connor Teears. Baily Manion scored consecutive goals, and
Joseph Biuso score for the Macs. Immaculata carried a 5-3 lead into the second quarter.
Bailey Manion scored the only goal in the second quarter with 8:57 remaining in the half. Immaculata would lead 6-3 at the half.
The third quarter belonged to the Macs as the outscored Delhi 3-1 in the quarter.
Bailey Manion,
Anthony Inserra, and
Connor Teears all scored for the Macs.
In the fourth quarter,
Anthony Inserra,
Connor Teears,
Ben Wesolowski,
Joseph Biuso,
Nicholas DeFilippo, and
Tyler Plantarich each scored. SUNY Delhi added two goals in the quarter, as Immaculata claimed the 14-6 win.
Immaculata was led by
Bailey Manion with four goals and seven points
David Azzarano,
Anthony Inserra,
Joseph Biuso each scored two goals and
Connor Teears had one goal and four assists.
David Azzarano had six ground balls.
Matthew Kirkland was outstanding in goal making 22 saves on the day.
Immaculata men's lacrosse (1-0, 0-0 Atlantic East) will be back in action on Saturday, February 25
th when they host Cairn University at Draper Walsh Stadium at 4:00 PM.
