IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's basketball team fell to Arcadia University 76-61 on Wednesday night.
Tessa Liberatoscioli led Immaculata scoring a career-high 18 points, with a career-high eight steals, three blocked shots and three rebounds. Liberatoscioli's eight steals were the most in a game since Amber Ballinger recorded eight steals in a game in 2018.
Abigail Lentowski scored 14 points with eight rebounds.
Olivia Ettorre scored a career-high 11 points with four rebounds a career-high four blocked shots.
Mary deSimone scored a career-high 10 points and a career-high five rebounds.
In the first quarter, Arcadi took an earl 3-0 lead, before Immaculata got on the board on a basket by
Olivia Ettorre. Tessa Liberatoscioili followed with a pair of baskets as Immaculata took it's first lead at 4-3.
Olivia Ettorre hit a jumper with 5:49 remaining in the quarter to give Immaculata a 13-6 lead. Aradia recovered and hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to hold a 22-21 after the first quarter.
The second quarter saw Immaculata take the lead at 25-22 after baskets by
Olivia Ettorre and
Abigail Lentowski. Arcadia would battel back to take the lead.
Tessa Liberatoscioli hit a three-pointer with 4:17 remaining to give Immaculata a 28-27 lead. Arcadi would finish the quarter on a 7-2 run to take a 36-30 lead into the halftime break.
In the first half the game the score was tied three times, and there were 10 lead changes.
In the third quarter, Immaculata got an early three-pointer from
Abigail Boyer to cut the lead to 36-33. Aradia would end up shooting 8-for-12 (66.67%) from behind the arc in third quarter to carry a 62-44 lead into the final quarter.
The Mighty Macs battled hard in the fourth quarter, and outscored Arcadia 17-14. Arcadia would go on to close out the win 79-61.
