IMMACULATA,Pa.- The Immaculata field hockey team defeated Cabrini University by a score of 1-0 in this morning's Atlantic East Conference matchup.

In a game that was deadlocked for 59 minutes and 54 seconds of play, it was senior
Lauren Buckel who would play hero for the Mighty Macs with six seconds remaining. Immaculata would draw their lone penalty corner of the match with 13 seconds left on the clock. Head Coach
Kate Stopford would dial up a play leaning on her two senior captains to make a play.

Lauren Vandenbraak would receive the insert and set up Buckel with a feed that the latter would fire past multiple Cavalier defenders including the goalie for a game winning goal in the final seconds.

Immaculata spent most of their morning on the defensive end of the turf at Draper Walsh Stadium, with Cabrini controlling possession throughout, the Cavaliers would outshoot the Mighty Macs 18 (12) to 5 (5) but could not find the back of the net throughout.

Junior goalkeeper
Julia Levase was a brick wall throughout, tallying 10 saves including a crucial save on a penalty stroke to keep the Cavaliers off the board. Levase was helped out by her junior cohorts in
Madalyn Bonner and
Della George who each made defensive saves in the contest.

This victory snaps a 14-game losing streak for Immaculata versus the Cavaliers, a fitting ending for what is ultimately the final regular season matchup ever between the two programs.

The Immaculata field hockey team is back in action Wednesday, October 11
th when they continue Atlantic East Conference play on the road at Gwynedd Mercy University for a 7:00 PM matchup.
