IMMACULATA,Pa.- The Immaculata field hockey team dropped their Atlantic East Conference opener to St. Mary's College of Maryland by a score of 5-1.

St. Mary's started the scoring off in the 1
st minute of action to jump out to a 1-0 lead. They would extend their lead to 2-0 in the 6
th minute. Senior
Lauren Buckel would find the back of the net right before halftime to cut the Seahawk lead to 2-1 in the 26
th minute.

The Seahawks would add goals in the 35
th, 42
nd and 51
st minutes of play to put the contest out of reach for the Mighty Macs.

Lauren Buckel led the way with two shots on goal for Immaculata, fellow senior
Lauren Vandenbraak tallied the Macs other shot on goal. Junior
Kaitlin Gale made two impressive defensive saves for Immaculata in the second half.

The Immaculata field hockey team will continue Atlantic East play when they take on Cabrini for their final regular season matchup with the Cavaliers at Draper Walsh Stadium, Saturday October 7
th at 11:00 AM.
