PURCHASE,NY.- The Immaculata field hockey team defeated Manhattanville College by a score of 4-1 in their Atlantic East Conference finale.
Lauren Vandenbraak got the party started early with her team leading 6
th goal of the season in the 6
th minute of play. Manhattanville would tie it in the 7
th minute to make it a tied contest.
It was Vandenbraak again in the first minute of the second period who would reclaim the lead for the Mighty Macs via
Lauren Buckel and
Della George. In the 23
rd minute freshman
Emilyn Bivens would extend the Immaculata lead with a goal of her own by way of
Abby Fekete. The Macs headed into the locker room with a 3-1 advantage at the break.
In the final minute of the 3
rd quarter It was
Lauren Vandenbraak again with her 3
rd goal of the game on a feed from
Madalyn Bonner stretched the Mighty Macs lead to 4-1 heading into the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter would be scoreless as the Mighty Macs ended their conference schedule in the win column.
Immaculata's offense had 27 shots on the morning with 15 of those being on target.
Ashley Finkbiner made one save in the only shot she faced.
The Immaculata field hockey team is back in action on Wednesday, October 25
th when they wrap up their regular season at Draper Walsh Stadium when they host Kean University.
