ASTON, Pa.- The Immaculata women's volleyball team opened Atlantic East Conference play on Wednesday as the visited Neumann University. Immaculata fell to Neumann 3-0.
The Mighty Macs were led on offensive side by
Emily Ettien and
Mia Esposito who each had three kills, and
Ava Thorley added two kills.
Emily Ettien and
Christina Lenzo each distributed three assists, and
Ava Thorley added two.
Christina Lenzo had two service aces, and
Lily Burnette and
Emily Ettien each had one service ace.
On the defensive side the Mighty Macs were led by
Lily Burnette and
Emily Ettien who each had nine digs, and
Karissa Heman who added seven digs.
Emma Hodgson and
Calissa Araujo each had one block.
First Set- Immaculata opened a quick 6-0 lead as they earned a side out on a kill by
Emily Ettien, who then served five consecutive points. Neumann responded with a six-point run of their own to even the score at 6-6. Neumann would go on to take the first set 25-12.
Set Two- Neumann would jump out to 10-0 lead before Immaculata could break a run of serves by Claudia Bournazel.
Karissa Hermann served three straight points for Immaculata. Neumann would win the second set 25-8.
Set Three- Neumann again took an early 3-0 lead. Immaculata would not go quietly as they narrowed the score to 21-18 on a service ace by
Emily Ettien. Neumann would hold on to take the set 25-20, and the match 3-0.

th when the visit Widener University for their final non-conference match of the season at 7:00 PM.
