Women's Basketball Drop Conference Game to Neumann

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's basketball team (7-8, 2-2) welcomed Neumann University for and Atlantic East Conference Game. Immaculata fell to Neumann 56-51.

In the first quarter of Immaculata got a pair of early baskets for Reese Mullins as Neumann opened a 9-4 lead with 3:50 remaining in the quarter. Abigail Lentowskii and Abigail Boyer would score for the Macs to close the Neumann lead to 11-8. Neuman would score in the final minute of the quarter to carry a 13-8 lead into the second quarter.

In the second quarter Neumann would open a nine-point lead with 8:20 remaining in the quarter. Immaculata battled back with a layup by Kailyn Racobaldo, and a jumper from Megan Ricker to pull the Macs within five points. Late in the half Immaculata got a pair of free throws from Abigail Lentowski and Reese Mullins to send the game to half-time tied at 23-23.

In the third quarter the team's exchanged the lead early. With Neumann holding a four-point lead, Immaculata closed the score to 31-30 on a three-pointer form Meghan Ricker. Reese Mullins and Abigail Boyer each hit a pair of free throws late, and Kaitlyn Racobaldo scored on a layup as Immaculata held a 40-38 lead going into the fourth quarter.

In the fourth quarter Morgan Falcone hit a three-pointer with 7:42 remaining in the game to put Immaculata in front 43-42. After a basket by Neumann, Reese Mullins scored to put Immaculata back on top 45-44. Neumann would outscore Immaculata 12-6 down the stretch to win 56-51.

Reese Mullins led Immaculata scoring 15 points with five rebounds and two steals. Abigail Lentowski scored 13 points and contributed seven rebounds. Morgan Falcone scored seven points and had six rebounds, and Abigail Boyer and Meghan Ricker each scored five points for the Macs.

The Immaculata women's basketball team is back in action on Wednesday, January 18th when they host Marymount University at 6:00 PM.
