IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's basketball team dropped their Atlantic East Conference home opener to Cabrini on Wednesday evening 76-64.
In the first quarter Immaculata opened the scoring quickly on a lay up by
Kaitlyn Racobaldo from a pass from
Erin Kelly. The teams exchanged leads early in the quarter. Cabrini would respond with an eight-point run to take a 17-10 lead with 3:14 remaining in the quarter. Cabrini would take a 24-17 lead into the second quarter.
In the second quarter Cabrini's lead jumped to nine points early in the quarter. Immaculata began to battle back on three-point play by
Abigail Lentowski and a jumper from
Abigail Boyer to cut the lead to five. In the second quarter
Abigail Lentowski scored six points,
Reese Mullins scored five points, and
Kaitlyn Racobaldo scored four points. Cabrini would hold a 41-34 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, Cabrini would use a 12-point run to open their largest lead of the game at 59-40 late in the quarter.
Morgan Falcone broke the run with late layup. Cabrini would lead 59-42 at the end of the quarter.
Immaculata would open the fourth quarter by scoring the first nine points with a three pointer from
Abigail Lentowski and three baskets from
Reese Mullins. Cabrini would hold on to take the game 76-64.
Abigail Lentowski led Immaculata with 24 points going 7-of-12 from the field, and 9-of-11 from the stripe and added seven rebounds.
Reese Mullins scored 20 points shooting 8-of-10 from the field, and 2-of-3 from behind the arc.
Kaitlyn Racobaldo scored 10 points and contributed three rebounds.
The Immaculata women's basketball team will be back in action on Saturday, January 14
th when they host Neumann University at 1:00 PM.
