IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata university women's field hockey team fell to the visiting Stevenson University Mustangs by a score of 2-1 in this evening's non-conference matchup at Draper Walsh Stadium.
 
The first quarter saw two shots on goal by the Macs with freshman Gabrielle O'Brien and junior Lauren Vandenbraak tallying the opportunities. With outstanding efforts in net by sophomore Julia Levase, the score remained tied 0-0 at the half.
 
The game remained tied throughout the third quarter despite both teams' attacks on goal. Stevenson started the fourth quarter hot with a goal in the first minute of action on a penalty stroke to give them a 1-0 lead. 

Immaculata's Lauren Vandenbraak answered back in the ninth minute of the fourth with a goal of her own on an assist from senior Gianna Gatto. Despite the Macs defensive efforts in crunch time, the Mustangs were able to find the back of the net late to take the match with a final score of 2-1. 

The Immaculata University Field Hockey team will travel to Aston, Pennsylvania on October 8th to take on Neumann University with  a 1:00 start to begin Atlantic East Conference play.
