ASTON,Pa.- The Immaculata women's field hockey team opened up Atlantic East Conference play by getting into the win column by taking down Neumann University with a score of 2-0.

Gianna Gatto got the party started early with a goal in the 7
th minute of the game to give the Mighty Macs a 1-0 lead in the first period. The score would remain 1-0 for the rest of the half.
Stephanie Webb provided the second and final goal of the game just 12 seconds into the start of the second half off of a feed from
Gianna Gatto.

The Mighty Macs were led by Gatto and
Lauren Vandenbraak, who both provided 4 shots on goal. Meanwhile,
Gabrielle O'Brien tallied 3 shots on goal and
Stephanie Webb added 2.

On the defensive end, goalkeeper
Julia Levase tallied 5 saves in a strong effort to keep the Knights off of the scoreboard.
Madalyn Bonner made a stellar play on the ball to prevent a goal, adding a defensive save to her stat line.

The Immaculata women's field hockey team is back in action on Tuesday, October 11
th , where they welcome Marywood University into Draper Walsh Stadium for a 4:00 start as they continue Atlantic East Conference play. Â
