CAMDEN, NJ. - The Immaculata men's soccer team overcame a second-half deficit to get back into the win column on Wednesday evening taking a 3-2 victory at Rutgers-Camden in a non-conference matchup.
Immaculata found itself trailing at the half 2-1. In the 78th minute sophomore Sean Franks took a long shot on goal that the Rutgers-Camden goalie tipped into his own net to even the score at 2-2. The Macs then got the game winner in the 86th minute when sophomore Reed Lindsay scored on a free kick from 25 yards out that the short hop deflected off the Rutgers-Camden goalie into the net to give the Macs the 3-2 lead
In the first half senior Justin Hahn got the Macs on the board in the 19th minute to even the score at 1-1 on an assist from sophomore Michael Balestriere. The Scarlet Raptors scored in the 16th and the 28th minutes and carried the 2-1 lead into halftime.
Sophomore John Wilhelm made seven saves in goal to lead the Macs on the defensive end.
The Immaculata men's soccer team (4-2-1) will be back in action on Saturday, September 24th when the host Rosemont College as part of the Mighty Mac Fall Fling. The contest is scheduled to start at 4:30 PM.
