LANCASTER, Pa. – Following their convincing 8-0 win earlier in the week, the Immaculata Field Hockey team returned to action tonight at Lancaster Bible. Immaculata continued their strong offensive play as the Macs earned their third straight win defeating Lancaster Bible 5-1.
The teams played through a scoreless first quarter with Immaculata controlling the play throughout the quarter. The Macs held a 3-0 advantage in shots, and 2-0 advantage in penalty corners.
In the second quarter, Immaculata opened the scoring early as
Della George scored in the 18
th minute on an assist from
Lauren Buckel. Immaculata extended their lead in the 21
st minute of the game as
Lauren Vandenbraak scored two goals separated by 47 seconds.
Gianna Gatto had an assist on the first goal.
Abby Fekete added a fourth goal of the quarter for Immaculata in the 28
th minute to give the Macs a 4-0 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, Immaculata extended their lead to 5-0 in the 39
th minute of the match on a goal from
Theresa Cerruti assisted by
Della George. Lancaster Bible rounded out the scoring for the night with a goal in the 43
rd minute to bring the score to 5-1.
Immaculata held a 17-3 advantage in shots, and a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal for the game. The Macs also lead in penalty corners 8-1.
Immaculata will be back in action on Wednesday, September 21
st when they travel to play Widener University. The contest is scheduled to start at 7:00 P.M.
