CHESTER,Pa.-The Immaculata women's field hockey team dropped their non-conference match up by a score of 3-0 to Widener University.
The Pride jumped out to an early 1-0 lead just minutes into the game. They would continue their scoring in the 2nd quarter with two goals in a two minute span to end the scoring for the night.
Despite their best efforts, the Mighty Macs offense struggled to find any rhythm in the contest. On the opposite end of the field the defense held strong in the second half, stopping the bleeding and keeping the contest close.
Immaculata was led in goal by the combination of sophomore goalkeepers, Ashley Finkbiner and Julia Levase who combined for seven saves in net. The defense held strong with 15 defensive corners in the contest.
The Immaculata field hockey team is back in action on Saturday, September 24th as they host Arcadia University at 11:00 A.M to kick off The Mighty Mac Fall Fling at Draper Walsh Stadium.
