IMMACULATA, Pa.-The Immaculata women's soccer team earned their first win of the year in tonight's non-conference matchup against Penn State Abington with a final score of 4-3.
Junior midfielder
Hannah Phillips started the Mighty Macs offensive scoring with their first goal in the fifth minute of play on an assist by
Kristen Guthier. The second Immaculata goal came shortly after in the tenth minute of play by freshman forward
Savanna Crowding, assisted by
Rachel McNamee. Penn State Abington responded to both goals quickly with answers of their own, which led the match into a 2-2 tie at the half.

Therese Weis joined the offense scoring by tallying the third Mighty Mac goal in the 16th minute of the second half, assisted by
Hannah Phillips. The final tally, which was ultimately the winner was put in by
Therese Weis, her second of the night with just under 8 minutes to play in the contest.
The Mighty Macs spent most of their time on the offense end against the visiting Nittany Lions with

Kristen Guthier,
Nicole Winouski,
Savanna Crowding,
Kelli Dombroski, and
Jessica Gindle all placing shots on goal. On the defensive end, sophomore goalie
Gina Marinelli provided heroics in net when it mattered most with her five clutch saves.
Immaculata women's soccer will travel to Rosemont College this Saturday, September 17th to compete in the non-conference matchup.
