Slaboda Named Head Cross Country Coach

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Paul Murphy, Immaculata University Director of Athletics & Recreation, announced on Monday morning that Brandon Slaboda has been hired as the head men's and women's cross country coach and equipment manager ahead of the 2022-23 Academic Year. In this role, Slaboda will also serve as an assistant coach for the Immaculata men's and women's track and field programs.

Slaboda earned his Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and International Relations along with a minor in Politics from Ursinus College.

"We are extremely excited for the hiring of Brandon to lead our University's cross country program," described Murphy. "After a strong performance last year, we believe Brandon will help bring our program to the next level. His experience as a Division III student-athlete at Ursinus as well as his involvement in SAAC will be invaluable to our student-athletes and I believe Brandon will be a great fit for the department as a whole."

During his time with the Bears, Slaboda captained the men's cross country team to a program-best seventh-place finish in the NCAA Metro Regional Championship in 2021. On his career, Slaboda owns a personal best 28:28.5 time in the 8K. Additionally, he medaled four events at the 2022 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

"I am thrilled to be joining such a wonderful and energetic community through my new role as Men's and Women's Head Cross Country Coach as well as the Equipment Manager," said Slaboda. "I am grateful for Paul Murphy and the rest of the athletics department for offering me the opportunity to lead this wonderful team. Both the men and women of Immaculata's cross country team are in a great place to make a name for themselves this fall, and I look forward to contributing my time to their success both in the classroom and on the course."

In addition to his performance on the course, Slaboda served as the assistant recruitment manager for the Ursinus cross country and track and field programs while also acting as the President of the Ursinus Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). He did so while excelling in the classroom, earning Dean's List and Academic All-America honors. During his time at Ursinus, he was also a member of the Ursinus Athletics Emerging Leaders Academy.

Slaboda will begin his duties with the Mighty Macs immediately.
