GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Immaculata women's tennis team took down Gwynedd Mercy in their away match on Wednesday, claiming the match 7-2.
The Macs' first doubles team of
Annamarie Degnan and
Pamela Kontaras won their match 8-3 overall.
Jessica Dougherty and
Kelly O'Brien then won their second doubles match 8-4 while
Audrey Keen and
Autumn Barnard claimed third doubles 9-8, 7-3.
Moving into singles, Degnan dropped a close first singles match 7-5, 6-3 while Dougherty claimed a second singles victory 6-1, 6-2. In third singles, Kontaras claimed victory for the Macs with a 6-0, 6-1 decision. O'Brien, meanwhile, dropped her fourth singles match 6-4, 6-3. Keen then won a battle of a fifth singles match 7-3, 7-6, 15-13, while
Jenna Muttik rounded out the day with a 6-2, 6-1 victory in sixth singles for the Macs.
The Mighty Macs will next return to action on Saturday, April 23
rd as they host Cabrini at 12:00 P.M. Prior to the start of the contest, the Macs will honor their senior class.
